Charlton Park
This Friday our 3rd graders will be traveling to the Historic Charlton Park located in Hastings, Michigan.
This trip will show students what it was like to live in a typical 19th century community in Michigan.
We will depart Lincoln Elementary at 8:45 A.M. We will return to school before our regular school day
dismissal.  Students will need to bring a sack lunch in a disposable container (plastic bag, paper bag,
etc.) for this day or may order a sack lunch from the lunch room – no glass bottles please.  No money
is needed, as there is no gift shop available to students. This trip is free for students!
We will be taking lots of pictures and will share them with everyone, so no cameras please.
Students may also bring one entertainment item for the trip such as: reading material, an electronic
device, such as a ipod with earbuds, or a DS or video game.  Encourage your child to be selective
about what he/she brings, as personal belongings are their responsibility.
3rd Grade Swimming
Please return the swimming permission slip as soon as possible.  Your child will need this slip signed
in order to participate.

Multiplication Ice Cream Quizzes
This week we will start another multiplication quiz challenge for learning Multiplication facts.
Students will earn ice cream scoops, and toppings as they pass quizzes for each level of facts.
Please continue to work with your child on multiplication 0-10.  IXL, flashcards, and XtraMath
(a new program we are using)  are good tools to practice facts. Students need to be fluent in these
facts by the end of the year.

Ettinger Testing
Now that Spring Break is over, we will be getting into our testing season before we know it. We will
not start until the end of the month, but I wanted to share our times with you, so you can hopefully
plan around these for any appointments your child may have coming up. We will be doing some test
review in our classrooms, along with our regular curriculum

Test Prep/Homework Sheet
Please pay close attention to the letter that is being sent home tomorrow (Monday, April 15th) that is attached to your child’s homework. We are starting to send home some additional homework to help students prepare for testing. We have also provided out testing times on the sheet as well.

Charlton Park
Just a reminder that we have our Field Trip to Charlton Park coming up on Friday, April 26th. Your child
will need to bring a sack lunch. We prefer to have you put it in a sack or plastic bag, so we can throw it
away when we are there. We will provide coolers for students to keep their lunch cold. We will be
sending home a sheet for any student that would like to take a school sack lunch on this day. This
would then be deducted out of their school lunch account.

3rd Grade Swimming
On Friday, Mr. Pfahler sent home information on 3rd Grade Swimming. We will be swimming the week
of May 13th through May 17th. Please read over the information sent home, and return the permission
slip to school as soon as possible. If we don’t have your child’s permission slip, then they can not begin swimming. This is part of their grade for physical education, so they must participate unless they have
a doctors note. Make sure your child has a suit and a towel.
