End of 3rd Grade!
We've been so busy during the past month the time has really flown by! Can you believe the year is
nearly over?   I've truly enjoyed working with your child these past weeks.  I appreciate all
of the support that you've given me over the last month or so, and I know Mrs. Ettinger loved her
students and parents this year!. Between the two of us we send our best wishes for your student's
success in the years to come.

I encourage you to get your child involved in the summer reading program available at your local
public library.  Your child has grown as a reader this year and the summer reading program is a
wonderful opportunity to keep him/her interested and involved in reading throughout the summer!

Your child will continue to have access to Raz-Kids, IXL, MobyMax, and Core 5 over the summer.
Spending a little time on one of these each day would be a great way to maintain your child’s
math and language skills throughout the summer as well.
Thank you for a Great Year!  Have a fabulous summer!

Kiwanis Park
This Tuesday, June 4th, the K-4th grade classes will go to Kiwanis Park.  We will be walking with
our Kindergarten buddy class. We plan to leave school around 11:45 and return around 2:20.
We will be eating lunch at the park and playing for a little while. Please send your child’s lunch in
a paper or plastic bag that can be thrown away when lunch is over so we don’t have to keep
track of lunch boxes. Parents are welcome to walk with us or meet us there.

Multiplication Ice Cream Quizzes
Our multiplication quiz challenge for learning Multiplication facts is almost over!
We will celebrate with an ice cream party after Kiwanis on June 4th. Please continue to
work with your child on multiplication 0-10 if they have not passed all the multiplication levels.

Family Picnic
A flyer was sent home with your student on Friday regarding side dishes to bring for the picnic. Please remember plates and silverware for your family and chairs or blankets to sit on. Hope to see you there!

THANK YOU!
Thank you to all of the students and parents who made me feel like a superhero during Teacher Appreciation Week last week. I am honored by the appreciation and support I received. The special notes, flowers, treats, dry erase markers, and hugs were so very thoughtful and kind. How awesome that I get to watch your children learn and grow this last month school. I passed on notes and gifts to Mrs. Ettinger and she too was very appreciative of the moral boost during her sleepless nights with baby Mack.

Swimming is POSTPONED!
Swimming has been postponed. We will get the new schedule out to you as soon as it is available.

Mr. Pfahler has selected four boys and four girls who will represent our classroom
by running in this event.
Please check the weather and have your child dress accordingly.
We’d love to have you join us!

Multiplication Facts
Please keep practicing multiplication facts at home with flashcards, Xtra Math online, or anyway you'd like. Students will continue to take 2 minute tests to earn ice cream at the end of the year.

Turtle Eggs
One of Mrs. Ettinger's class pets, Boxxie or Chip, laid eggs for the first time ever on Thursday. It was big news in our classroom! If your student didn't tell you about it, be sure to ask them. We had a special science lesson about turtles in honor of the eggs.
